I only add 2 - 3 byadgi chillies and the remaining are regular chillies.
And now, thanks to your recipe, I make the chutney pudi much much better than the Bangaloreans
Thanks a ton for sharing the recipe.

She could not stop licking and eating it. It came out beautifully, right the first time!
I am from Bangalore and in Canada for 50 years. We love chutney Pudis, but I can not get a good one in Bangalore, even from Subbama's..
A Few Remarks:
* Your Exact measures of each ingredient is very. very helpful . It shows how hard you have tried to perfect it.
* I like Flax seeds. So I replaced Dhals with Flax seeds.... one -to-one. It came out just right.
* Using exact recipe exactly, with the same weight of Flax seeds, I got exactly 1Kg of Pudi.
It's a bit too spicy. Next time I will cut down on Guntur Chillies. Probably eliminate it and use only Byadagi chillies.
*You might consider dry roasting stuff as much as possible. With Oil for roasting, it may go rancid after 3-4 months. So I keep this batch in the Fridge. But 1Kg may not last longer than a month!

Overall. a great recipe, developed with hard work and above all love of the Bangalore Chutney Pudi.

Now I am going to try your Karela Palya. That is the love of our life

sorry Roopa for not replying quickly I have measured everything, the ingredients compliment each other, so it will be perfect, I have many people who have tried this and said that it has come out very well, it might be a bit spicier, you can reduce the amount of chillies if you want, try out and see

please clarify if they are not too much for the dal quantities mentioned...because i want to try this..
i normally use 30 red chillies for similar measurements of chutney pudi..
